Change begins with movement

R-DMT Bùi Tuyết Minh - Master's in Dance/Movement Therapy, Sarah Lawrence College, New York; Member of American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA); Fulbright Alumni, US Government
I am Bui Tuyet Minh - a daughter, a wife, a mother, and a Dance/Movement Therapist. I grew up in a Vietnam carrying many memories of war, loss, and rebirth, caught between tradition and renewal. My experiences living, studying, and working between Vietnam and the United States helped me realize that no matter where we are, each of us carries wounds, aspirations, and a need to connect.
I didn't come to Dance/Movement Therapy out of love for it. I came because I had experienced the power of returning to myself. Like many clients, I too went through periods of rupture and disconnection. Dance/Movement helped me find my rhythm again, reconnecting with my body, emotions, and inner source of life.
In 2013, a Fulbright scholarship brought me to Sarah Lawrence College (New York) to study Dance/Movement Therapy. After graduating and returning to Vietnam, I laid the first foundation for this field and founded Vietnam Dance/Movement Therapy (VDMT).
Over more than 10 years walking alongside children, adolescents, women, veterans, patients, teachers, and many different communities, I've come to believe even more deeply that everyone carries within them Body Wisdom — an inherent resource for sensing, adapting, and growing.
I don't "heal" you. I walk alongside you as you rediscover your capacity to sense — to listen to your body, connect with yourself, and uncover the resources that have always been within you. I believe: Change begins with Movement. Sustainable development begins with Body Wisdom.
