Dance and movement are our first language, an innate human way of expressing ourselves. They provide a foundation for integrating emotional, social, cognitive, and physical experiences in the journey of healing and holistic development.

About us

Vietnam Dance/Movement Therapy (VDMT) was founded in 2015 and officially established as a social enterprise, pioneering the introduction of Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) into community care for mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

What distinguishes VDMT is its integration of Dance/Movement Therapy with creative arts and improvised music, developed through international collaboration with cellist Bryan Charles Wilson. This East–West cultural fusion offers a multidimensional, deeply embodied, and organic therapeutic experience.

Mission

VDMT was founded with the mission of nurturing mental health and spiritual well-being through the intelligence of the body and expressive movement.

Through Dance/Movement Therapy, creative arts, and approaches grounded in Vietnamese cultural contexts, Vietnam Dance/Movement Therapy is committed to building a holistic care ecosystem for diverse populations—from students, families, women, and hospital patients to vulnerable communities, as well as university students and businesses—serving both as a pathway for self-care and a model for prevention.

My name is Minh - meaning the harmonious light of the Moon and the Sun.
I am a daughter, a wife, a mother, and a dance/movement therapist.
A Vietnamese woman who grew up between polarities—war and peace, tradition and change.
I live and work between two cultures: Vietnam and the United States.

My body carries memories of ruins, poverty, trauma, and also of longing—for life, for love, for giving.
These experiences have shaped my sensitivity and taught me how to listen and understand through the body.

Like many of my clients, I have walked through rupture, loss, and the silencing of my inner voice.
On my journey back to vitality, I encountered great teachers—doorways to places I could not reach alone. Dance/movement became my breath of rebirth, a practice that allowed me to be fully present with all dimensions of myself and to return to balance.
It became the path through which I reconnected Body, Mind, Intellect, and Spirit—when I was thirty.

In 2013, the Fulbright Program scholarship carried me toward becoming a Dance/Movement Therapist.
For more than ten years, I have worked in hospitals, schools, and community organizations—with children, women, pediatric cancer patients, veterans, artists, teachers, and students.

The body is a home for emotions, memories, and dreams.
And when we are touched, when we move, when we are truly listened to, we rediscover safety, inner strength, and the joy of being alive.

I do not heal you. I walk with you - back home - into harmony with your body, awareness, emotions, and soul.
